1. Enter your measurements
Change any value to update the estimate instantly. Example prices are not live supplier quotes. Mortar bag weight and mixed yield are separate manufacturer specifications; verify both before ordering.
All dimensions and prices are editable. Enter zero where appropriate; results round up to whole purchasable units.

How to use the brick & mortar calculator
Estimate a simple straight brick wall using nominal brick dimensions and mortar joints.
Worked example
A 5 × 1.2 m single-leaf wall has 6 m² gross face area. Standard 215 × 65 mm bricks with 10 mm joints give about 59 bricks/m² before wastage.
Before you order
Uses a simplified stretcher-bond estimate for single-leaf (half-brick) or double-leaf (one-brick) walls. Mortar is estimated from wall volume minus brick volume, not a structural design. Bond, piers, openings, wall ties, foundations and engineering requirements can change quantities.
Important checks
- Measure the actual project dimensions rather than relying on estimates.
- Check packaging quantities, supplier pricing and delivery conditions.
- Use the calculator as a shopping estimate, not a structural specification.
